But has anyone considered that Hispanics are by far our most common minority in this country?...

I've been hoping they would do something special for her along with the opening of AGPLA, but there doesn't seem to be anything.

Marisol also had the huge controversy that brought in attention and probably drove up sales. And wasn't it last year that The Code was working? Or has it been longer ago than I remember?

Personally, I like both girly-girl and outdoorsy and would LOVE it if they combined the two. Have some sporty dresses and some pink active wear for example.

We love the girly girl stuff and won't be getting Jess. Neither of my daughters care for her for some reason. I have a Marisol hidden away though for my 9 year olds bday in June and I can't wait to get her out!

In our house my mom collects the limited edition dolls and I have felicity and elizabeth. Jess was the first LE that I fell in love with. She is beautiful and her kayak was an added bonus for me. I have always wanted a doll that looked like Jess ever since I was a young child. I spend my first three years in asia where most of the population was a mix of native, spanish and american heritage. I loved the travel aspect and Jess' outfits for blending into the local culture rather than the AGT travel outfit which I personally think is horrible.

I like Jess better too. I was never really interested in dance, so Marisol's collection is not my favorite. But I do like "girly" stuff too!

I like Marisol better, just because I think she's prettier--Jess's facemold just didn't do it for me.

I also wish that the LE dolls' collections would have more CLOTHES--that's what most little girls want with their dolls. If a child is only going to have one or two AG dolls, a small wardrobe of outfits is going to be much more practical than a couple of larger accessories.

At the very least, it would be nice if Jess had a hooded cover-up, a hiking outfit with shoes, a backpack with some camping gear, and maybe a dressier type of sundress (in case her parents have company at dinner? I haven't read her book).
And maybe another casual outfit for doing her (homeschool) lessons.

Wake up, AG!! Our girls need CLOTHES!!

I agree that "the code" and the controversy brought more sales than the girls themselves. I also think some negative publicity last fall has turned people away from AG.

Marisol is wearing Jess's meet outfit at our house. I agree that Jess's outfits seem more like Kailey's.

Samantha's movie had a discount code that could be used for $10 off any purchase $10 or more. Since it was usually cheaper to buy each item separately using the discount code on each purchase, many people placed multiple orders on the same day--and it was hard to resist that impulse buy when the savings were that good. It became known on the board as "the code."

I think that Mattel is lacking something in their production process, but I don't know what.... Maybe working with their fan base..... more practical thought going into their products...QUALITY, MAYBE. I just can't quite figure out where the glicth is......
